Seriously, just don’t even bother
Everyone is talking about the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships Vienna 2017 presented by A1 like it’s the event of the season, like you would be missing out on an event of epic proportions and may as well become a social recluse if you don’t check it out.
In the interest of presenting balanced and totally *cough* unbiased articles, we’ve compiled a list that should make you think again - Here are five reasons why you should stay at home this summer (and not come to the totally unmissable #WorldChampsVienna):
1. The best of the best in beach volleyball all in one place
Volleyball megastars and Olympians from around the world will be showcasing their sheer awesomeness and battle it out to claim the title of World Champions. Fans from around will fly into the city especially to be a part of and witness the event first hand. It will be such a spectacle that one could liken it to looking directly at the sun - now who wants that?
2. There will be too much action and excitement
Yes, that’s right folks. For 10 days, the city - or more correctly the Island - will be MANIC. People will be having the time of their lives. You know that saying that goes “too much fun and lust for life is good for you”, well clearly you shouldn’t listen to that. Ignore it completely and try not attend an event that’s surely going to be unforgettable and an experience of a lifetime. Don’t worry, those people who decided to miss the Olympics when it was hosted in their city and let that opportunity pass them by have learned to manage and live with their regrets and somehow lead normal lives.
3. Your whole family can join
You know how people always complain that there are so many events out there that include fun and entertainment for the whole family? Imagine an event in the summer where an entire Beach Village has been built up for your family to enjoy. Adults can watch all the action via Public Viewing while their kids play Bossaball*, climb walls, and go flying down A1’s giant inflatable slide - this is something you’d want to keep your kids away from because there is a chance that they might experience unlimited joy and happiness.
*Bossaball: Beach volleyball meets giant inflatables and trampolines - a match made in heaven (sorry, we meant hell).
4. Foodie Paradise
On top of all the things already mentioned, add delicious food into the mix and you’ve got the ingredients for a utopia. Vendors will be joining forces and gathering in what would also be termed foodie/hipster paradise. Visitors will be provided with mouth-watering, mid-tournament treats, perfect for those Insta stories and snaps. But you know, clearly getting one’s mind-blown is not for everyone.
5. It’s in Vienna
Again, who wants to spend the best time of the year - summer - in a beautiful place, in Europe no less? Water, forests, greenery, active city life, stunning cityscape and of course the second longest river in Europe casually flowing through. Cosmopolitan destinations are not for everyone, nor is creating memories; and you know, you could always just ignore that bourgeoning wanderlust.
There you have it, 5 reasons why you should just stay at home and do nothing this summer instead of having the time of your life. BUT, if this article did nothing to convince you and you want to go and buy tickets immediately, well then click here.
