Here’s our golden girls!
Ladies and gentlemen we now have the pleasure of introducing our Beach Girls for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, presented by A1!
One of the most important decisions for the biggest jobs in the Austrian capital this summer was made at the top of the Millennium Tower in Vienna this week – with eight lucky ladies chosen by a panel of beach volleyball and fashion experts.
A total of 14 candidates were set the task of impressing the judges, which consisted of Beach Majors CEO Hannes Jagerhofer, hat designer Elke Rock, journalist Vera Lischka of newspaper Kronen Zeitung, Susanne Speil of title sponsor A1 and Millennium Tower’s Center Manager Hermann Jahn.
The girls had their beach volleyball knowledge tested but also had to show off their dancing skills as DJ duo The Beach Balls spun tunes on the turntables. Knowing the all-important beach moves to accompany each track was at the top of the agenda for the tough-to-please panel.
After hours of deliberation, the judges whittled down the competition and announced the six Beach Girls and two VIP hostesses who will be on location during the 10-day extravaganza at the Danube Island.
Selin, 22, Isabel, 24, Ieva, 22, and Isabella, 22 – all from Vienna – plus Corinne, 25, from Rennweg, and Natashca, 32, from Graz, were selected to be the Beach Girls, while Katharina, 18, from Mödling, and Nicole, 21, from Eisenstadt, will have the honor of hosting the lavish VIP area.
“The casting was lots of fun,” said Jagerhofer. “Our Beach Girls are not just pretty, plus they have the right appearance and aura which fits perfectly to the philosophy of the World Championships.”
The eagerly anticipated World Championships kicks off on July 28 – and the drawing of lots – to decide who plays who, will take place at the upcoming Poreč Major. Stay tuned to beachvienna.com for more information.
