Perfect preparation for players before Vienna kick-off
It was a good weekend for a host of players who will be soon lining up on the Danube Island at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships presented by A1, which starts next week.
In a number of different events across the globe, beach volleyball stars were busy winning medals as they prepare for the biggest sporting event of the summer in Vienna.
The biggest win came for 18-year-old Brazilian superstar Duda, who won her second consecutive under-21 gold medal with Ana Patricia Silva, beating fellow World Champ participant Nadezda Makroguzova in the final.
Elsewhere on the World Tour, there was success for Thai duo Varapatsorn Radarong and Tanarattha Udomchavee as they claimed silver in the Daegu event in Kora.
Over in the United States, the President’s Cup in Long Beach saw Gstaad Major champions Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena win gold, beating Sam Pedlow and Sam Schachter in the final. In the women’s division, Brazilians Larissa/Talita – silver medalists in the mountains – won gold, beating Lauren Fendrick and April Ross.
All eyes will be on Austrian teams at the Danube Island with their legion of fans behind them. And World Champs wildcards Martin Ermacora and Moritz Pristauz warmed up for their biggest test of their young careers by winning silver at a satellite event on the European tour in Hungary.
There’s only 10 days before the greatest show on sand kicks off in Vienna – so, like the players, make sure you’re prepared and get yourself sorted with tickets, VIP packages and don’t forget to enter our competition to win a smart fortwo!
